Nick came to Hardin Medical Center from Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky where he was the chief operating officer. Before Lourdes, he was the CEO of St. Mary’s Medical Center, formerly LaFollette Medical Center, in LaFollette, Tennessee.
He holds a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Ohio State University and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina.
Nick is very knowledgeable of patient experience and quality, patient safety, strategic planning, revenue growth, physician recruitment, and capital construction.
While under Nick’s leadership, St. Mary’s was named one of the nation’s “Top 100 Hospitals” in 2008-2009 by Thomson Reuters. Additionally, in 2008 the hospital won Thomson Reuters’ prestigious “Everest Award,” a distinction given to only 23 organizations nationwide that achieved the highest rate of improvement over a five year period.
Nick Lewis offers a wealth of professional affiliations and experience to HMC. He is a member of both the American College of Heathcare Executives and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He was also a Governor’s Appointee for the Governor’s Task Force on TennCare for the State of Tennessee. Lewis is a past vice-president of the Tennessee Hospital Association Solutions Group.
He is married to Teresa and they have one daughter, Amanda, who is currently a medical student.
