Dr. Gade Rao receives CWSP designation from the American Board of Wound Management


SAVANNAH, TN – November 18, 2013—Dr. Gade Rao, Medical Director of Wound Care Services at Hardin Medical Center has achieved CWSP designation from the American Board of Wound Management. The CWSP credential is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), the accrediting body of the institute for Credentialing Excellence. 
The CWSP program received accreditation for demonstrating compliance with the NCCA Standards for the Accreditation of Certification Programs which ensures certification programs adhere to modern standards of practice for the industry.
Dr. Gade Rao earned this important accomplishment through hours of hard work in preparation for the CWSP Examination. This is a formal recognition of a master level knowledge in the specialty practice of wound management.  It is the most prestigious and rigorous physician certification in wound care and demonstrates a distinct and specialized expertise in the practice.  CWSPs are an elite group of healthcare professionals involved with wound management. Dr. Rao is also a general surgeon at HMC.
HMC Wound Care Services opened in November 2010 and has seen significant patient growth as the need in the community was there. “A great need was identified in our community for wound care services and our numbers continue to surpass the initial anticipated volumes. Clearly, this is a very important service to our patients who suffer from chronic, non-healing wounds and we are pleased to offer it at Hardin Medical Center,” said Nick Lewis, HMC CEO.
